An Evening At Medbery

My family took a 3-hour vacation, yesterday, at beautiful Medbery Park [in Montague, Michigan]. Medbery is one of my favourite places to visit with my photography equipment. Beautiful sunsets, interesting people, breathtaking scenery... Yesterday was no disappointment. During my walk around, I met a group of adventurous pier divers who were kind enough to allow me to shoot some photos of them. These two ladies made for some awesome shots with their synchronised dive. That, and the fact that they were darned photogenic made photographing them an easy job! These photos were cross-processed to give them an edgier look. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. As impressive as the synchronised diving was, this pier jumper asked if I had ever seen a front flip dive. Thinking that watching him attempt this would be worthy of some shots, I followed him as he attempted his dive. After all, worst case, watching somebody crash and burn always makes for interesting photography, right? Forget that... he showed me that there is one thing that makes for more interesting photography... and that is actually succeeding his front flip dive. As the sun made its way to the Western sky, I set up my new lighting equipment [as described in my previous blog entry]. My wife was kind enough to do some posed shots, for me. She typically acts as my photographic assistant, during assignments, but she made for a darn good model. 1. 2. 3. After these shots, we packed up and headed home. Once again, Medbery proved to be a great place to visit. With its sunsets, interesting people, and breathtaking scenery...
